Shibaricon

I just got back from Chicago, where Shibaricon was hosted. WOW.

First, the hotel was a great start — not far from the airport and a good venue for a congress.

We took some time to visit the city, take pictures, see art, and explore downtown Chicago.

I purchased some nasty new toys at the leather event.

I also met the other instructors — it was great to be part of that: Zamil, 2Knotty Boys, Midori, etc.

I took some classes to learn new things or see things from a different point of view. I did not learn that much on the technical side, but on the social and philosophical side — and that was worth it.

I learned some good things from MarkDV8, JD, and Sir_C. Sometimes it is just a small knot or the way of using it. But my revelation came in SophiaSky’s class on edge play — I learned a detail that had been puzzling me for years.

The play parties were always full of players — hundreds of them. Imagine 30 suspensions in the same room.

I had a rematch with a good rigger from Boston in the Top versus Top game. It was a great game — I still have bruises.

The best part of it all was meeting that many people who share the same passion.
