The risky part of kinky life

We live in a world where others can unbalance a perfect life by putting light on what we do in the shadows.

With over three decades of public presence, I got to participate in five court cases where BDSM was used in a way to show that a person had bad morals and because of that should lose rights.

Three of those cases were about child custody, two of them involved one parent using the other’s BDSM activities to argue they should not have the right to see the kids. Nothing illegal, just kinky stuff.

One of those cases was a report made to the DPJ that a parent used bondage to suspend their kids. That was partly true, but nothing sexual — it was just making them fly like Superman in the courtyard. We provided pictures of circus and movie-style rigging done in the same way, and the judge agreed. But the stress was there; the damage was done.

A close friend received an investigation from their HR department after an anonymous public complaint. HR simply said: you can do what you want in your private time — sorry, but we wanted to make you aware.

Those who cannot have a kinky life include politicians, school teachers, judges, and many others who would get fired if their image were attacked on moral grounds.
