This is a post about what we know, and I will try to update it with information as we get it over time.
Before the idea of that location came about, the owner started something called HPS (High Protocol Society), which sounded nice for people who like protocol. He began organizing munches in various places. So far, nothing bad. Then last summer he got the idea of a kind of kinky café. He approached many organizers, group leaders, and people to promote the idea. But it was never very clear where it was going — would it be private or public? Would it be a bar or a coffee shop with a back room? And where would the money flow? My partner is a former restaurant owner and raised a few red flags about it.
The behind-the-scenes details we became aware of after the police intervention:
One of the cooks had to fight to get paid, and was assaulted and abused even before the opening. Her account is still available on FetLife. Many other incidents also came to light there.
Thursday, April 11, 2024 — I received an SMS: a friend was interviewed and had their identification taken at Le Protocol around 4:00 PM. The people there were kicked out. I received pictures of people outside with the big SPVM identification van, and the morality squad was also there. Computers and communication devices were confiscated, from what we know.
But since then, no one has had any information about what happened to the two owners. No one has seen them — not before, not on location, and not after.
