The party is now over, and wow, what a success. It was great to see friends from all over the country — people from Ottawa, Toronto, and even New York. My only regret was not having enough time to spend with some of them.
First, the ingredients: Torture Garden staff, a nice venue, experienced staff, good performances, and a fashion show. You take the best from all the teams in Montreal and you get something very powerful.
From the TG team, Empress Stah was probably the star of the party for me — one of the best performances I have seen in a long time. They also had a very good DJ.
The venue was an already tested and well-known one: Belmont, Bain Mathieu, Velvet. My favourite was the Bain Mathieu with such a high ceiling.
The staff was the best available — the Cirque de Boudoir team, who have been running parties for a long time. FS (Isabeau & Seb) with Vid to produce those after-parties — they know how to do them well. Carl was an incredible asset to the event — the best assistant you can have. MissV, who has lots of experience working with Monde Osé, put on a very good fashion show. I took care of suspension and the dungeon, with more DMs than any play party before.
Performances: on Friday, it was gory and military. The fashion show was great, and the performance by Daniel Hubart was nice too. On the big day — Saturday — Empress Stah was incredible, and my double hook suspension on a zipline worked well.
Dungeon and DMs: to make this the biggest event, we used 3 dungeon setups — MasterEx, Hellkitty/Irony, and Polymorph stations. We also used 10 DMs — some new, some with more than 20 years of experience. The biggest issue was the music volume in the dungeon, which we fixed very quickly.
Issues — like any event, we had them, but with experienced people you fix them very quickly.
